About this Speaker

Bijay Sapkota is the Co-founder of Student Job Australia and Immediate Past President of the Council of International Students Australia (CISA) where he served two terms as the President of the Council. During his role as the President of the Council, Bijay has not only contributed towards International students’ community but more broadly International Education sector through his engagement in different key committees such as the Council for International Education (chaired by the Education Minister of Australia), Education Visa Consultative Committee, International Education Stakeholders Forum, TEQSA Student Advisory Group, ASQA Strategic Review Panel and Australian Qualification Framework Review Panel. He is currently studying Bachelors of Global Studies at UTS. Bijay was also a member of the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) Council. Recently, he has been appointed in the Queensland International Institute Strategic Governance Board. By virtue of Bijay’s engagement in youth affairs (humanitarian and multicultural) in Nepal and Australia, Bijay was awarded the NSW International Student of the Year 2016 (co-winner). He was also awarded the Youth Inspiration Award 2017 by Hon. Dr. Ram Baran Yadav, former President of Nepal in the Youth SAARC Regional Conference held in Kathmandu. He was recently awarded NRNA Youth Person of the Year for his contribution to the broader community from 2017-2019.
