About this Speaker
Jason is currently a community educator in the ATO. He has been engaging with diverse communities on behalf of the ATO for over 14 years. His experience includes working in audit, complaints and ministerials, small business support, school education, tax help program management, leadership and project work.
Jason has spearheaded a high level of engagement with new and emerging communities, international students and clients from diverse backgrounds in South Australia through his work in the Community, Culture, Education and Assistance team.
Prior to joining the ATO he was working at Centrelink as a case broker, assessing, assisting and empowering clients at long term risk of unemployment. Jason has worked for members of parliament assisting constituents and working on policy assessment.
Jason is currently in his 13th year as an elected member in a South Australian metropolitan council, has served on their audit committee for 2 years, current chair of their Infrastructure and Strategy committee, previously chaired various council committees and a past deputy Mayor. The council has an annual budget of around $75 million, population of over 83,000 and responsibility for over a billion dollars’ worth of roads, park and building infrastructure.
