Professor Nick Saunders AO

Professor Nick Saunders AO is Chief Commissioner of TEQSA (2014 - ). Prior to this appointment, Professor Saunders held senior leadership and management positions at a number of Australian universities, including Vice-Chancellor of the University of Newcastle, Provost of Bond University, and Dean of Medicine and Health Sciences at Monash University and Flinders University. Professor Saunders has wide experience in health and higher education, and has served on a number of national bodies, including the National Health and Medical Research Council (Chair), the Board of the Australian Research Council, and the Higher Education Council. He is currently acting in the role of Chief Executive Officer of TEQSA and also holds the part-time appointment of Chair of the Repatriation Medical Authority.
